An absolute crap show of a power play. No desperation at all and not a single shot.

Who would have thought at the beginning of March that the Blues would be treated like a rental car by the Vancouver Canucks.

Faulk with the sweet forearm shiver.

Blues have had the better chances in OT so far.

Now would be a great time to do something on the PP.

Not that excited about a Blues PP, unfortunately.

Except for the whole cup thing last year it's feeling like just another normal year of Blues playoff hockey.

OT would not have been where I expected the Blues to find their extra gear. But they certainly looked in control for the majority of the time. And a nice breakaway for Schenn, obviously.

Nice win!!!
What's wrong with the Blues PP is insanely simple. All season long, once Tarasenko was injured, David Perron was on the left side half-wall. With Perron on the left side half-wall, the Blues had the 3rd best PP in the league. So now that the playoffs have started, Perron is lining up on the right side half-wall and, not so mysteriously, the Blues one-timer opportunities have vanished along with any semblance of a threatening power play. Can anyone explain this coaching decision at all? The PP at the end of regulation - 0 shots. The Canucks just kept denying the inevitable passes from either half-wall because neither Schenn nor Perron were shooting threats given the PP setup. That PP in OT... the Canucks knew the point shot was coming from Pietrangelo, were set to block it, and almost wound up with a short-handed chance as a result. When your PP only has a single one-timer threat, your PP is going to fail.

Hell of a shot. Desperately needed that obviously.
Blues still go long stretches not looking good. Another night where the Canucks could've/should've been up 3-1 or 4-1 at the end of the first period. That goal Pettersson scored after Parayko and Scandella ran into each other is a perfect summary of basically this entire series so far.
They still have plenty of work to do. But it's good to try to learn after a win than a loss.
