Hey look - let's schedule games in 2 and a half hour windows - then spend 15 minute of the first 2 and a half hours talking. It's not like they have more than one network available... Of course, ESPN did the same thing when they had hockey ages ago, so don't expect to see that change, although I hope it does. Hope, not expectation, because expectations are ludicrously low based on past facts.

Agreed. It's just frustrating year after year in the first couple of rounds to constantly miss the start of games because the first one doesn't wrap up when the unrealistic time slot ends. There must not be any real blowback as like you mention it happens year after year. You'd think some intern could run a spreadsheet and see that games pretty much take X amount of time (without OT) and that constantly slotting them with 30 less minutes will always end up with overlap.

In other news Vegas looks sharp so far today.

Goofy advanced stats...

Marchessault - zero offensive zone starts, 2 defensive zone starts, scores a hat trick.
Makar - 8 offensive zone starts, zero defensive zone starts, 1 shot on goal.

I'd say Vegas shut Makar down pretty effectively while Marchessault played his butt off - which he did.

In case anyone needs to know, since NBCSN scheduled overlapping games, again, the Jets-Canadiens game will be on NHLN at 7 CT and stay there at least until the end of the Isles-Bruins game - maybe for it's entirety. Not sure.

Thanks! I'm personally cheering for the Islanders tonight. Tired of the Bruins.

Wow. That was an onslaught by Boston in the 3rd. Islanders barely hung on to that one.

That was a rough one for Vegas to give up with less than a second to go.

Boston is crumbling as if it were game 7, 2019. Gotta say I'm not shedding any tears for them. LGI!

I'm really hoping to see Marchand crying like a baby when the game ends.

He's my current Jarkko Ruutu as far as hating a player. Thanks for playing - here's a bag of dicks Brad. Enjoy your summer.

If the Isles get past Tampa, which I don't expect but hey, you never know, I might spring for some Cup Final tickets.
