Re: Barbashev to Vegas
I like the prospect the Blues got… essentially Barbashev but maybe a little better and 7 years younger.
The asshats on twitter bitching about this trade need to put down the crack pipe. Like O’Reilly and Tarasenko, Barbashev was going to be lost for nothing. Instead they get someone back and besides which Barby’s immediate term replacement was already claimed on waivers yesterday. Kapanen gets the rest of this season and next season and by that point Dean should be ready to seamlessly slide in.

I don't mind this at all. Seems like a good return, and if Barbie wants back in the offseason, I think he still fits on the team. If not, it's not like the Blues lost a generational talent.

Re: Barbashev to Vegas
Barbashev was also very complimentary of Armstrong and the Blues in how they handled his request to play on a playoff team this season. The Blues wanted to re-sign him, but respected his wishes on being traded. That can only bode well for his return in the offseason as a UFA... but... I think he's going to get some offers that are more than we can spend. So unless he gives us a discount, I dunno if he's coming back.

Re: Barbashev to Vegas
Barby looks like he's thriving in the Vegas system, 2 G, 3 A, +3 in 4 games so far. I wouldn't be shocked if he re-signed with them as a UFA.

Re: Barbashev to Vegas
Considering Barbashev is getting consistent top 6 minutes with Marchessault and Eichel, what would be his motivation to come back and be a 3rd line who can play up role player? Especially with how that line is clicking in Vegas.
