I was hoping we wouldn't get a suitor and end up having to keep him through the season where someone would buy the team and sign him to a long-term deal.. Just didn't say it out loud in fear of a jinx...
I'm still waiting til this is final though.. Edmonton doesn't seem the likeliest of teams.

It's on TSN, so you might as well accept it... In this age of parity why would Edmonton not be likely?Mellanby_equals_grit wrote:I was hoping we wouldn't get a suitor and end up having to keep him through the season where someone would buy the team and sign him to a long-term deal.. I think that's a pretty good trade for the Blues. You guys got 2 young defenceman that, along with Jackman and Backman, will round up one of the most promising top 4 pairings in the Conference. Doug Lynch was a throw in.LazyPenguin wrote:Eric Brewer, Doug Lynch and Jeff Woywitka.

Lynch:

Not terrible, but again it's Chris Pronger so of course it's disappointing

He's no Pronger replacement, but he seems steady from what I can remember from last season watching the late games on HNIC. I think he's played for Team Canada a few times.LazyPenguin wrote:Brewer looks impressive!? Anyone know anything?
Woywitka was a former Flyers prospect I think?
Never heard of Doug Lynch at all. Could be David Lynch for all I know.
It would have been nice (TM) if Pleau could have gotten a winger instead of one of the prospects, seeing as that's the team's big need.

He's helped Canada win the Gold Medal in the 02 Olympics and the 04 World Cup.
