For those of you who don't know...A LOT of fans at Scottrade before power plays have been doing this for some time now. A stupid "raise the roof" up and down type motion with their arms, but the arms look like they are signaling a "good field goal", during the song played before a power play starts.
What the hell is it, and how and why did this stupid, stupid thing start?? What did I miss?
This just screams like something Nashville fans would do...not Blues fans.
There's a 'superfan' named Jago. You may have seen him, if you've ever went to the big pre-game festivities prior to the home openers, you may have seen him dancing. He's got a mustache and his jersey says 'JAGO' on the back. Anywho, apparently he would dance like that and one section in particular (one of the 300's....don't recall which) started doing that when the powerplay music kicked in. That's the story I read, I think on the Asylum.

Someone needs to cut off his arms for starting this stupid, stupid thing.
To me it actually looks like the hands are suppose to copy a goal light flashing, but that's just me. But its still (Franking) stupid and it angers me every time I see people do it.

If it's supposed to copy a goal light flashing, why in the bloody hell would they do it during Blues power plays?
It would look better if everyone did it, but when half the people don't even do it, and the other half are either half-assing it or looking like they're having a seizure it looks silly and is kinda embarassing. We should come up with something better...

++ on the
SRSLY. First someone lets a fricking blue bear mascot on the ice. Now this. EMBARRASSING.
The Jagoff that started this shit should be pitched over the edge of the upper deck or forced to be rinkside with Bernie to commandeer Bernie's piss bottle.

Maybe if we sacrifice them to the hockey gods maybe they will be pleased and let us be awesome.

Not sure the link will work but I took that 3-4 years ago at a home opener. That's Jago.

I didn't just notice it. I had said I've been meaning to ask this for a while.
But I don't remember this being done last year to the same degree it is being done this year...but I only made it to a couple games last year, and one was up in the press box, so I wasn't sitting with the rest of the fans...maybe it was easier for me to miss I guess... I dunno.
At the home opener a bunch of out-of-towner Flyers fans were sitting in front of me and they were mocking it all night. Doing a little "short bus" version of the dance when everyone else was doing it.
