Yeah but I almost feel more confident in this squad if they have a deficit to make up. We are a horrible team with a lead. Especially the early, initial lead. Either way, their lead has nothing to do with EJ and their goal against does. He made it personal when he said he wanted to "make us regret" dealing him. No longer pulling for him.

There really is no reason to believe at this point that Davis Payne is not completely over his head. Even if we got more talent next year, is there any evidence to convince you that they'd be any good?

The fans booed the team off of the ice. Let's hope the fans follow it up with not buying tickets. Stick it to Dollar Dave.

I can't believe anybody wants to put this on Payne.

Most people, IMO, judge coaches w/ flawed logic. A coach of a bad team is not necessarily a bad coach, and a coach of a good team is not necessarily a good coach. Case in point: Mike Martz.

Instead, you should judge a coach by how a team performs vs how they would perform under a different coach. I'm curious what coach could overcome so many injuries to key players and bad goaltending.

Payne may not turn out to be a good NHL coach, but this season is not evidence of that. Hell, look at how they played under him last year.

There really isn't any arguing Payne has been out-coached badly of late. However, badly out-shooting the hawks and avs and losing both is completely unacceptable. You can only go as far as your goalie can take you and as long as it is an inexperienced Bishop or the Jekyll and Hyde Halak/Conklin we go just south of no where. As much as it pains me to say it, we also win at least one of these games with Brewer's experience back there. I make the EJ trade every time, but that 3rd rounder is not worth missing the playoffs this year which is exactly what is going to happen with all this inexperience on the back end.

Blaming a coach for poor goaltending is blindly looking for someone to blame. You obviously don't have a high opinion of Payne, which is why you are taking this opportunity to blame him. At least it seems that way to me.

I disagree in blaming Payne. The game vs. the Hawks we lost because of poor goaltending. The team can come out and say they didn't play well in the 2nd period, but the brunt of the blame goes to goaltending.

Maybe Payne is part of the problem...maybe you're right. But I don't think that's the case at all...but that's just me.

Don't forget N64. Throw Polak in there too. Both are playing a poised brand of hockey that is unique for young defensemen. Nikitin is looking more and more composed each game, almost like a 5 year veteran in the last week or so.

D'Agostini is having a career year.

Steen is on pace for a career year, will surpass his points total with just 4 more.

Berglund is showing signs of life after the sophomore slump. Boyes isn't the most worthless player on the team anymore.

I get where Nyght is coming from. This is a frustrating ass team with some frustrating ass losses. But to say individual Blues aren't improving, and that it reflects upon the coach, is we todd did.
