I can't believe he doesn't think BeBop is tougher then Rocksteady. What a douche!

At least we can agree on something!DaDitka wrote:northwest dave wrote: But hey, that doesn't take away the chance for you to say something trite about Jackman.

A good captain isn't about scoring goals, it's about leadership and being a veteran.DaDitka wrote:northwest dave wrote:You can't talk down the hate that DaDitka has for Jackman. Don't even try.STLADOGG wrote: He doesn't love hockey? So 104 blocked shots in 57 games is because he hates the game?
Clearly just another by product of his laziness (laying down on the job)
Sorry, no one that watches this team game in and game out can honestly even suggest he's any good at all anymore.
I may go out of my way to 'hate' on him, but that is only because so many try to act as though he's actually the player we all thought he would become.
It's no different then when everyone said I was hating on Oshie because I said he wasn't capable of scoring 30 goals before the season.
It's a matter of perspective. I'm 'hating' on Jackman if you are trying to suggest he's a top 4 D-man or decent candidate for captain.
If you want to compare his value to a Mike Weaver or suggest that he should make the team next year over Tyson Strachan, we can have a discussion.

When the Blues played bad while Brewer was Captain, it was easy to blame it on him. I just hope Backes can take it.DaDitka wrote:STLADOGG wrote: A good captain isn't about scoring goals, it's about leadership and being a veteran.
I understand that COMPLETELY.
If you can't tell, I don't think very highly of Jackman in any of those categories. I think he is completely useless and his very existence sickens me.
You are certainly entitled to your opinion.
I see a guy that doesn't try enough for me. When he's beat on a play, he quites. He takes horrible angles. His hips suck now and he can't change direction and accelerate at all any more. He is a turnover machine. He is a burden on his linemate instead of a veteran presence to help nurture our young defenseman. When he 'sticks up for teammates' he merely runs his mouth until an official comes over and then he generally throws one girly jab around them.
Sorry, your not going to change my mind. These observations are based on what happens on the ice. What I see on TV and more importantly what I see in person (away from the puck).
So you're more then welcome to have your opinion of him, but quit trying to defend it when it's not based on anything. Try buying a ticket and watching him for an entire game.
Backes has proved to us he belonged in the blue note day in and day out. He bangs bodies, takes name, stands up for his teammates and destroys people at the expense of bad penalties since he is venting his anger as much as the fans are. In the same span what does brewer have to show for us besides being injured and looks out of place. Blues handed him the captain status, and he didn't show anyone from the fans perspective that he deserved it. Saying this is a career year for him basically say that he was a bust in the nhl draft picks. I think EJ's ceiling now is that of jay bouwmeester, dion phaneuf, or might i say Eric Brewbot.STLADOGG wrote: When the Blues played bad while Brewer was Captain, it was easy to blame it on him. Wait, what? He looked silly in OT, but other than that I can't really blame him for the other 2 goals he actually allowed.DaDitka wrote:You had Conks take the night off last night (mentally).

I don't think I've ever seen that from him. That was franking awesome. If he keeps up the attitude, he'll be a 40/90 guy before we know it.
I highly doubt it. Perry is effing awesome, Getzlaf is almost effing awesome. Stewart is great but Bergie I don't think will consistently come close to Getzlaf. He's just not consistent enough.DaDitka wrote:goon attack wrote: Or hell, maybe give Bergie an A... perhaps it will light even more of a fire under him. Obviously I've been a huge Bergie supporter from day one, and even I never thought we'd see that out of him. Kid could really - really be special.
Him and Stewart together fr the next 5 + years.......could it be a Getzalf / Perry pairing???
I have no problem with that at all, but what about Dags? Dude throws and scores!philco_3 wrote:I like how the Blues did their alternates this season with having 2 different sets of alternates for home and away.
Possibly
C-Bakes
A-Steen/McDonald
A-Petro/Stewart
