The undermanned Blues win a big one, 4-2. They move to 3-1 without Shattenkirk and Fabbri.

They withstood a spirited 1st Period storm from The Oilers, and played tenaciously all game. Hard to pick 3 stars for The Blues in this game. They had about 12 or so. A real team effort.

Good, solid road game to get us to 3-1. At times we looked a little sloppy but the talent gap between us and Edmonton is apparent. And really, I never felt like we were going to lose this game.

I'm continually impressed by Brouwer. I really thought he was just going to be a rich man's Jason Arnott. A big body that could throw his weight around and chip in some offense. But he's really added a nice dimension to the offense and has already made an impact.

Gunnar continues to struggle. When our D is fully healthy, I'd prefer Bortuzzo in over Gunnar most nights, but hey, my name isn't Hitchcock.

a team needs a #1 goalie and a #2 goalie. Not a 1A/1B. This has been a problem with the Blues for quite a while now. Having a definitive #1 goalie is part and parcel to being a successful team and they need to just pick one and stick with them good or bad.

Agreed. I keep asking: what team has been successful with a goalie rotation? The answer is: none. No team has been very successful without a clear #1 goalie. Hitchcock seems to have become terminally indecisive in his dotage. What are your best lines, Hitch? Who's the 7th D? What sort of system do you want to play? I wonder if he knows.
