The Blues were lucky to get 2 points out of that game when they played so badly. It's great to get them, as they really need to keep up with The Stars and Preds and keep a cushion over The Hawks, while they're waiting for Stastny and Schwartz to return.

Defensive play was horrendous on those two goals, felt like they had no clue what to actually do. They better get it together for the wings game...

Allen is a #1 netminder. He's had what - one bad outing in his past 10 or something like that and even that one was crappy d zone coverage by the forwards again.

The issue that keeps coming up on most goals against is forwards not covering areas when D-men are moving to do what they are supposed to do. It happened vs Chicago, the Jets, and now the Sabres. It's not the defenseman, it's the forwards not helping.

If the Blues want to win low scoring games, as Hitch has said, they have to tighten up that type of coverage. Of course, getting players back should help eliminate the need to win just low scoring games.

And, yet, the Blues won anyway. Thanks, Jake!! And they didn't give a point to a Western Conference team.

Sidenote - Dear David Backes, when you are 1 on 3 DUMP THE F'ING PUCK. You aren't going to stick handle through three players. Just get it deep, chase, it and let your linemates help out. 3 or 4 times, at least, he tried stick-handling through 3 defenders at their blueline.
