You mean the post season pressure of knowing you'll be blamed for losing no matter how well you play and how poorly the rest of the team plays?NSWingsfan wrote:You're welcome.

Yeah, he played so well, he wanted to hang himself.cprice12 wrote:You mean the post season pressure of knowing you'll be blamed for losing no matter how well you play and how poorly the rest of the team plays?NSWingsfan wrote:You're welcome.

I'm sure Legace and Cujo could share stories.
Why don't all of you asinine chicken wing fans that come to blues boards hang yourselves. You won't be missed.NSWingsfan wrote:Yeah, he played so well, he wanted to hang himself.cprice12 wrote:You mean the post season pressure of knowing you'll be blamed for losing no matter how well you play and how poorly the rest of the team plays?NSWingsfan wrote:You're welcome.

Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I never said "Legace played well". I said he wasn't the primary reason the Wings lost.NSWingsfan wrote:Maybe you will some time.cprice12 wrote:I never understood why you Wings fans made a HUGE deal out of those comments.NSWingsfan wrote:Yeah, he played so well, he wanted to hang himself.cprice12 wrote:You mean the post season pressure of knowing you'll be blamed for losing no matter how well you play and how poorly the rest of the team plays?NSWingsfan wrote:You're welcome.

I never understood why you think he played so well.
The Oilers scored 4,4,3,4 goals against in their 4 wins. Yeah, goalie wasn't the problem. Obviously, our standards are different.cprice12 wrote:Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I never said "Legace played well". With the team that Legace had in front of him, he played good enough for Detroit to win the series, IMO.
But, of course, it's even easier to blame him since he is on another team now.
Why not point the big finger at Datsyuk?
He had 87 pts. during the regular season and led the team in points...BUT he didn't score any goals in the series....none, zip, nada. That's a bit more glaring to me, since you have to score to win.
#1 seeded Detroit only scored 17 goals in the 6 games against the 8th seeded Oilers. To me, that's not good enough to go blaming your goalie for losing the series...it's not like Detroit was scoring 4 and 5 goals a game and losing games 5-4 or 6-5. The offense wasn't good enough to warrant blaming your goaltender, IMO.
Could Legace have been better? Sure. But I wouldn't pin the series loss on him.
Edmonton outplayed the Wings in numerous areas and deserved to win the series.
IMO, it's not as simple as saying "Legace cost us the series against Edmonton".
I think a better case could be made for Cujo in the 2004 Post Season series against the flames. Every game the Flames won was by one point. (two games 1-0) This was, IMO, a more CLASSIC case of "the team let the goalie down". Manny really beat himself up over his last stand for the Wings, I think he knew he let them down. I really like Manny and I'm not one to say "it's the goalies fault". The Wings should have put up better numbers with the talent they brought to the ice. I agree I wouldn't pin the series loss on him, but I would pin MORE of the blame than in past years.cprice12 wrote:Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I never said "Legace played well". The only reason you defend Legace is because he is on your team now. It's no secret on here that you're the biggest Kool-aid drinker there is. You fail to see the bad in anything when it has to do with your team. I don't know, maybe that's a good thing.cprice12 wrote: IMO, it's not as simple as saying "Legace cost us the series against Edmonton".
Actually, if that is true, it is a pretty big secret. And I'm not saying that just to stick up for my fellow Blues-fan. I couldn't care less about your petty "debates". Just decide who's dad has the biggest gun and be done with it.Steve Levy Sucks wrote:The only reason you defend Legace is because he is on your team now. I defended Legace during his last playoff series w/ the Wings and after it when everyone blamed him. If you actually watched the games you'd know he wasn't the problem.Steve Levy Sucks wrote:The only reason you defend Legace is because he is on your team now. Glad to see you're getting it now.Steve Levy Sucks wrote: That's became your trademark - hasn't it. You're right, you're the only fan in the world that actually watches the games. You arn't watching the action, you're watching for specific patterns, the way a player might skate, the direction of hits, the position of the moon in relation to the color of a players skates. I mean, you're the only one who really gets it. You and only you can have an opinion on a subject, wait, for you, it's not an opinion, it's fact. You're right, he wasn't the problem, I give up. I'll have no more opinions until after I consult with you.
